Today’s Reading: Exodus 15-16, 1 Samuel 18-19, 2 Chron 4, Isaiah 65-66, Joel 2, Job 33, Psalms 62-63, Mark 5, 2 Corinth 1-2
Jesus is amazing. If I told you all of what He’s done for me, you’d be amazed. He personally healed me. He has healed many members of my immediate family. He answered my prayers and brought one of my children back from certain death. I’ve experienced the power of God for myself! I’ve learned firsthand that He not only has the power over sickness and health, but also life and death.
Psalms 63:2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
Not only that, but He loves me as Jonathan loved David. He’s loved me as He loved Himself. I have become one spirit with Him. I once was not a people; I once was not loved, but now I am one of the holy people of God and know as His beloved. He’s made a new covenant with me. It is a covenant that was established with the breaking of His body and the shedding of His blood.
1st Samuel 18:1 After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.
The most incredible thing He has done (which many people underrate) is He has revealed the Father to me. God the Father too loves me. The Father listens and answers my prayers. The Father collects my tears in a bottle. The Father treasures me. I am precious in His sight. I am dearly loved and accepted by God. All because of Jesus. Have you heard about Him?
Mark 5:18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Prayer: Gracious Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for Your Son. Thank You for Your marvelous love. Thank You for pouring out Your compassion and grace over me until my heart is overflowing with peace and joy. Thank You for Your tender mercies. Thank You for Your wonderous works and great miracles. Thank You for being my God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
